Sea to Sky Real Estate Update
WHISTLER’s real estate market saw a total dollar volume of approximately $90 Million in July. There were a total of 68 transactions a significant increase from June. Of those sales, 11 were chalets, 26 were townhomes and 13 were condominiums. July of last year only recorded 42 transactions.

Property sales in PEMBERTON brought in $14 Million in total dollar volume in July, the biggest month seen so far in 2020. There were a total of 24 transactions in Pemberton, considerably higher than July of last year that recorded 11 transactions. Of those sales 9 were condominiums and 7 were townhomes.

The SQUAMISH real estate market had a total of $37 Million in sales in July. There were a total of 45 property transactions which shows a slight decrease from June, however it still tracked higher than July 2019 which recorded 34 transactions.

CANADA SEES RECORD INCREASE IN HOMES SOLD IN JULY
“What a difference three months makes, from some of the lowest housing numbers ever back in April to the multiple monthly records logged in July,” said Shaun Cathcart, CREA’s senior economist. “A big part of what we’re seeing right now is the snap back in activity that would have otherwise happened earlier this year.
Canada’s economy is emerging from the steepest downturn since the Great Depression, fuelling a renewed housing boom. Housing starts hit a two-year high last month, while the latest confidence readings show optimism about prices is rebounding.”
