WHISTLER BLACKCOMB plans to open on June 29 subject to provincial alignment and progress toward the BC Restart Plan, Phase 3.

We are happy to let you know that Whistler businesses are reopening in alignment with BC’s Restart Plan and the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s guidelines for a safe restart. Whistler locals and visitors planning ahead can see up-to-date information on what is open in Whistler (View Directory) and how businesses are upholding the highest of standards in health and safety for all.

The Whistler Village Gondola, PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola and Blackcomb Gondola will bring hikers and sightseeing guests up the mountains, and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will open with the Fitz and Garbanzo zones. Grab ‘n’ go food options will also be available at the Rendezvous, Garbanzo Bike and Bean, and the Roundhouse Lodge.”

Through May 2020

WHISTLER’s real estate market saw a total dollar volume of approximately $21 Million in May. There were a total of 14 transactions, up from 11 in April. Of those sales, 2 were chalets, 5 were condominiums, 4 were townhouses, and there was 1 duplex and 1 phase II sale. As expected in current economic conditions there was a decrease in total dollar volume of sales compared with May 2019, however the degree was much less than expected at only 8 percent.

Property sales in PEMBERTON brought in just under $4 Million in total dollar volume in April closely matching volume in March. There were a total of 4 transactions in Pemberton, 3 were chalet sales and 1 was a vacant land deal.

Property sales in PEMBERTON brought in just under $9 Million in total dollar volume in May, slightly above May 2019r, and certainly the largest dollar volume of transactions for any month in 2020 to date. Much of this dollar volume was due to two large chalet with acreage sales. There were a total of 7 transactions in Pemberton, less than May of last year, but on par with pre-COVID levels as seen in January and February 2020.

We’re Smiling Behind Our Masks

British Columbia has done a relatively good job of flattening the COVID19 curve, and we are now entering into a phase of re-opening. Schools, Retail Stores, Restaurant Dining, Personal Services and other BC businesses will re-open adhering to strict guidelines to protect employees and the public from the continued transmission risk. We know that we are not out of the woods yet, as our Public Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry cautions us with regard to a second wave. As such, RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate is taking all provincial and WorkSafe BC directives very seriously as we prepare to open our offices once again to our agents and the public. We will continue to practice physical distancing within our office spaces, and take extra precautions to protect our staff, agents, buyers, and sellers.
