Sea to Sky Real Estate Update

WHISTLER’s real estate market saw a total dollar volume of approximately $36 Million in December, less than half the volume seen in November but typical for this period.  11 transactions were for condominium sales, 9 were town-homes and 6 chalets were sold in Whistler. Town-home sales lead the Whistler market for dollar volume in December, with a total of over $11 Million with Chalet sales also in the $11 Million range.

Property sales in PEMBERTON brought in just over $6 Million in dollar volume in December 2019, with a total of 10 property sales, the same as November. Of those, 2 were chalet sales totaling $2.55 Million, 4 were Town-home sales with only 1 condo sold during the period.  There were 4 Vacant Land properties sold during December.

The SQUAMISH real estate market in December brought in a total dollar volume of just over $17 Million the lowest month for volume in 2019 but significantly higher than December 2018. There were a total of 23 property transactions reported: 7 single-family home sales, 15 townhomes  and 9 condo sales. Single-family home sales made up most of the total dollar volume last month, just over $8 Million total value with Condos very close behind.

ASSESSED PROPERTY values in Whistler went up again last year, though at a significantly slower pace than has been seen since 2016.  Rather than the double digit percentage increases seen in recent years, Whistler’s average increase has been 5% for a single family home.
