WHISTLER’s real estate market saw a total dollar volume of approximately $79 Million in November an increase of over $10 million in comparison to October in a total of 63 transactions. 21 of the transactions were for condo sales, 23 were townhome sales and 11 were chalet sales. Chalet sales lead the Whistler market for dollar volume in November, with a total of over $33 Million with townhomes sales close behind with over $29 Million sold.

Property sales in PEMBERTON brought in just over $5 Million in dollar volume in November 2019, with a total of 10 property sales, being slightly up from October. Of those, 2 were chalet sales totaling $1.4 Million. Townhouse sales showed significant increase in November with $3 million in sales compared to October’s $500k.

The SQUAMISH real estate market in November brought in a total dollar volume of just over $32 Million the same as October. There were a total of 41 property transactions reported: identical to October again! 16 single-family home sales, with 24 townhome sales, slightly down from October, significantly lower condo sales with 9 in November. Single-family home sales made up most of the total dollar volume last month, just over $16 Million total value

UPCOMING BC ASSESSMENTS MAY REFLECT MARKET CHANGES
Assessor and B.C. Assessment spokesperson Tina Ireland said, “We first saw signs of moderation during the 2019 property assessments. For 2020 assessments, we are seeing a continued ripple effect of a moderating market expanding across the province.” This is may not be the case for everyone in BC though! “Changes in property assessments really depend on where you live,” said Ireland. “For example, assessed values of homes in many areas of Metro Vancouver will see a softening in value, while other markets and areas of the province will see minimal change and even modest increases over last year’s values.” For more information read this Article in the Squamish Chief
