Through May 2022

WHISTLER’s real estate market had a total dollar volume of approximately $72 Million in May. There were a total of 42 transactions. Of those sales, 6 were chalets, 15 were townhouses and 9 were condominiums sales.

The SQUAMISH real estate market had a total of $49 Million in sales in May. There were a total of 44 property transactions. Of those sales, 14 were single family homes, 14 were townhomes and 12 were condominiums.

WedgeWoods Bylaw Change Could Mean More Housing for Whistler Area

A zoning change proposed for the WedgeWoods neighbourhood north of Whistler could increase the amount of housing in the community.

The changes would make it so property owners could have up to two auxiliary dwelling units, one within a single-family dwelling and one with a carriage house.

WedgeWoods is a private development about 15 kilometres north of Whistler, just outside municipal boundaries in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD).

Public Hearing to be Held for 25-unit Squamish Townhouse Development

he public will soon have a chance to voice their opinions on a new townhouse development that is bound for the Loggers East neighbourhood.

On May 17, council unanimously gave two readings to a proposed zoning amendment for 1039 Finch Drive.

The proponent is Squamish EcoVille Ltd.

As a result, the proposed project is now scheduled for a public hearing on June 21.

The amendment would change the land, currently zoned as rural residential RL-1 to a comprehensive development zone CD-102.

If the amendment succeeds, this would pave the way for the construction of 25 townhomes.

There are expected to be a couple of two-bedroom units and 23 three-bedroom units.
