The real estate market in Whistler has slowed down due to uncertainty around inflation and interest rates. Here’s a simpler breakdown:

  • General Market: There are more properties for sale compared to last year, but fewer are being sold.
  • Chalets: Prices are slightly up by 3%. There are many chalets available, making it a buyer’s market.
  • Condos: Prices have dropped by about 5%, and the market is balanced between buyers and sellers.
  • Duplexes: Prices have fallen significantly by over 21%, making it a strong buyer’s market with plenty of options.
  • Shared Ownership Properties: Prices are down by about 2%, but this is the only seller’s market with fewer properties available.
  • Townhouses: Prices have increased slightly by over 2%, and there are many options, favoring buyers.
  • Vacant Land: Prices are up by almost 10%, and there is a lot of land available, making it a buyer’s market.

Overall, there are many properties available, which is good for buyers, but prices vary depending on the type of property.

Through June 2024

WHISTLER’s real estate market had a total dollar volume of approximately $67 Million in June. There were a total of 30 transactions. Of those sales, 5 were chalets, 8 were townhouses and 8 were condominiums sales.

The SQUAMISH real estate market had a total of $50 Million in sales in June. There were a total of 43 property transactions. Of those sales, 16 were single family homes, 13 were townhomes and 9 were condominiums.

The PEMBERTON market had approximately $6 Million in total dollar volume in June. There were a total of 5 transactions. Of those sales 1 was a chalet, 2 were townhouses, and 1 was vacant land.
